Kline Miller Multiemployer Pension Reform Act Public Session

Treasury appointee Kenneth Feinberg opened the February 9. 2016 meeting identifying his role tonight is to hear from retirees and members of the Central States Pension Fund who had no opportunity give their input when the Multi-Employer Pension Reform Act was being passed by Congress.

Approximately 700 people attended this “Town Hall Meeting” and many of them had an opportunity to speak and provide their opinion on how these proposed changes will affect themselves and many others.

There were accusations regarding what went wrong at the Fund and questions about how the proposed distributions are calculated. Outside of a Government bailout there were no ideas or solutions presented.

For more information go to the Central States Pension webpage or the Dept of Treasury website to provide your input.
